Effective deterrence relies on surviving the first harsh hours and days of an attack, followed by active defense and recovery.

Crucial for this is a functional network of gas-tight underground shelters, the heart of each being a robust CBRN filtration system.

“Vzduchotechnik” is a Czech manufacturer  with over 60 years of experience in this field and was the primary supplier of CBRN filtration units for military and civil defense nuclear shelters in all Warsaw Pact countries. Nearly all Bulgarian bunkers from the 1970s and 1980s are equipped with these characteristic filters. We have returned to renovate and modernize them in the most effective and economic way possible. Our filters contain modern, cutting-edge technology while remaining fully compatible with the original construction. We use the newest AEP-54 certified activated charcoal and ensure the highest level of blast wave resistance on the market.

For large-capacity shelters

CBRN filtering systems are vital in protecting against various harmful air-borne contaminants, such as gases, vapours and aerosols, which are released during a critical event. Such an event can occur for many reasons, starting from a natural disaster or accident, but also as a result of a man-made attack, such as terror, war or sabotage in a dangerous facility (such as a nuclear power plant).

Our filter-ventilation systems can stop contaminants from a wide range of sources, whether they are biological weapons, such as viruses that are distributed in the form of particles or droplets, chemical weapons, typically in the form of gases or nuclear fallout in the form of particles and radioactive gases and eliminate toxic industrial chemicals in the form of gases.

When designing a stationary large-capacity filter-ventilation system, many elements need to be considered, such as threat analysis (which contaminants and quantities), sufficient air flow (both to maintain an overpressure in the protected area that prevents contaminants from penetrating into area and to allow sufficient fresh air for residents) in both filtration and ventilation modes, power supply and backup, the number of those protected and their planned duration of stay, the size of the enclosure and many others.

The filtration system includes in particular the following components: a coarse pre-filter (for dust and small particle removal), fine filters (for finer particle pollutants), CBRN filters, an electric motor, gas-tight pipes, gas-tight shut-off valves, gauges and measuring equipment. All these components are designed to work together to provide a safe and reliable environment in emergency situations.

FV 400

We try to meet the wishes of our clients and this variant was created on their own initiative. It is an air-filter-ventilation system, which does not contain a CBRN filter and is thus designed primarily as protection against explosions and pressure waves. The system contains a unique nanofiber bactericidal and virucidal filter NANOPASARAN™ at the output, which protects people in the shelter against biological threats. At the same time, it protects against the
spread of diseases during air circulation in the shelter.
